Bear, M3mphis may disagree, but I'm glad to know there is hope for you. I love axes, but find a monogamist relationship with them is impossible. I love almost all edged tools and can not get away from the sexy lines of hawks. So many sharp things to love and so little time.
Here's a few. Most of these have been posted before but it will keep the thread at the top until hopefully the Mods make it a sticky.
This is a 3 1/2 pound Swedish Banko I grabbed for 10 bucks in a local junk shop. Nice original handle and a great cutter.
A Walters cruiser from the last run before they closed after over 100 years.
A spike hawk I made from a model T leaf spring and another with it's cover.
My Grand daughters purple hawk ;-)) Model T leaf spring.
Big spike, small blade with all it's gear.
Spike hawk through an old axe handle for a haft, rawhide painted covers.
One of my throwers in 1095, walnut haft and a Big coffin handled bowie with an Elm burl handle.
One of my personal hatchets..1018 body and welded in 1095 bit..
stripped SOG fastHawk
1. I don't have any hawks.
2. I suck at throwing them.
3. Have you looked at the hawks that guys on here are making??? What if I got into hawks? I'd be royally screwed, that's what. For me, it's better they remain art to viewed and not touched.
I've been thinking about getting one to try out for quite a while now. I just have a hard time sending a single dime to cold steel (sorry, just how I feel about it, not trying to poke the bear). What's a good and cheap substitute?

For a little more money vs. Cold Steel, check out Fort Turner. 100% hand forged, the old way, you know with an anvil and hammer
Robin, stunning work as always, wow. That Banko always make me envious!
Kentucky, that hatchet is spot on. Phenomenal work.
thrillbilly, that is probably the best looking Becker I've ever seen!
Did you guys ever see this one from Kentucky? His pic from sale thread.
Here’s a picture of my Tracker Dan tomahawk whit my Libre Knife.
I always love looking at your work Pipman.
There's also these ones, they're made in India and I can't find a single bit of info on them but they're cheaper than the CS hawks and you can buy them separate from the haft.

Pipeman, NICE work. You are most talented. Love the sheaths as well. Great designs. Regards
