1. I'll get some pics of the Kellys up soon. They are a bit pitted, but not worn in terms of overall shape and profile.
2. Yes, stones, files, and the occasional 2x72" variable speed belt grinderI come to axes by way of bladesmithing.

It has a 36 inch handle , leather pouch and fully sharpened and ready to go, the hatchet on the left of the boys axe I have no idea but it has a mark of Sater Banko Sweden, the last small one on the left is a garant canada and it really takes a nice edge but needs a little thinning of the cheek. None of them are china made.
Here is link i found on the True Temper Black Prince. http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/hfd/Library...sletter/49.pdf

All I found this weekend was a $3 norlund and a $3 mystery, whose label I think said "Ace makes the Willard".
And a Collins Legitimus machette.
Two sweet hatchets and a Legitimus machete? Gee, tough weekend for you.![]()
Ooooh! It's a long one. What, 24"? And what's the axe with the nice handle?
25.5 inch blade, probably about an inch or more broken off the point. Kind of makes you want to slay a minotaur or something when you handle it. I've never seen this blade shape before, myself.
The axe is my only other Legitimus, about a six-pounder, 36", and I think a Connecticut, though I'm weak on pattern recognition. I got it in Little Falls NY this summer. Shown below with a nameless haftless 3-lb DB, a Lee HDW CO DB, Mann Edge Tool, and a Plumb Anchor hatchet (my only anchor), gotten on the same trip in Little Falls and Salamanca.

Collins indeed made 'Homestead' axes.
Square_Peg, Sorry kind of a embarassing but How did you attach the actual picture and not just the link. Can you tell me if you have some time.
Randy
Randy, I went to your photobucket page and selected the image I wanted. Then I right-clicked on the image and selected 'view image'. That took me to actual image page. Then I just copied the url from the top of the page and placed it between image tags like this [img]your image url here[/img].
Thanks for the quick reply, so I click on the insert image here at BF and attached the [img]your image url here[/img].
Thanks again, I got it.

I had to read those instructions many times before they penetrated my skull. The key for me was to ignore the button in the thread reply form that says "attach image" or such.
Deal fell through one the homestead I posted above but got this little russian hatchet for a trade.
