    Howdy all...
It is Saturday night. I went to the store and bought a dozen and a half of eggs, pound of maple bacon, bottle of spicy V8, and a loaf of whole wheat. Figure I can do something with that for breakfast tomorrow.

Whatcha eating for Sunday breakfast? Pics if possible...

Good old sausage gravy over a couple of hot biscuits.

    Arbys. Yuck!!!
But yesterday was good. A club sandwitch. And before that a pizza.
I don't eat normal food for breakfast. And how do you oven fry potatoes?

Hand shredded three large white potatoes then rinsed X3 in cold water, wrapped in a clean towel and squeezed out the extra. In a deep Wagner #10 skillet I plopped two tablespoons butter flavor Crisco and began to fry them. Then I got out some ramps from the fridge and chopped up a handful and tossed them in. Back to the fridge with a leftover bratwurst from supper Saturday night and chopped that up and in it went. Four or five times off turning them while they cooked for half an hour then I pulled out a regular #6 Wagner and sunny side up fried two eggs to top my serving of hashbrowns. My wife and oldest boy shared the hashbrowns and our youngest had a bowl of cold cereal. If there's onions in it he won't eat it but even without he is not one to eat a cooked breakfast unless there's a pan of B.A. biscuits. No biscuits today, B.A. or L.A. Oh, and strong coffee for me and older brother.

Two eggs medium(yoke still a bit runny, but hot) with salt, pepper and a very liberal amount of fresh parsley while the egg is still soft so it gets down into the egg. Bacon - my little gal buys the prime cut that doesn't have much fat - fairly chrispy, but not crunchy. One good sized baking potato cubed 1/2"x1/2" fried in a small pan with olive oil with s&p and paprika. I keep a lid on it until the potatoes are cooked and then take the lid off and let em crisp up - turn them alot so you try and catch all sides. 12 grain whole wheat toast. Orange Juice. Coffee w cream and suger. Then off to my project out in the country. I can run the whole day with no lunch. I have it down to a science so it all comes off at the same time. Running joke in the house not to get in dads way when he is cooking his weekend breakfast.

Fresh Amish sourdough bread (instead of the usual biscuits) with pepper gravy (fresh ground peppercorns), free range local brown eggs (have dark orange yolks), locally grown and butchered bacon, hash browns and orange juice. A real breakfast is a once a week deal here for me so I make the most of it. It is filling enough that I either skip lunch or eat a very light one.

Today, the kids wanted chocolate chip pancakes. Made a fine batch. I also had some bacon and two fried eggs plus my usual coffee.

If you like French toast try it with some of the sweet breads of various nations .Honey, egg, raisins etc are found in the breads like Italian pan dolce. Add a bit of brandy to your normal batter. Enjoy !

A bit of olive of vegetable oil might help keep the sausage from sticking early on. It won't take much, but the sugars in sausage and bacon can cause sticking before significant fats melt.

I am going to try this with the Amish sourdough bread tomorrow. I have just enough bread left from last weekend's loaf to make a panfull. I'll top them with tupelo honey, my favorite. And I always make enough egg mix to make an omelet to add to the plate. I add sauted onion and bell pepper to the mix for that.

I'll likely be in no mood for cooking a fancy breakfast tomorrow, just corned beef hash and eggs. My wife made some delicious onion and cheese omelets this morning, though.

Gonna try a new recipe for oatmeal pancakes tomorrow morning. Stay tuned for my review...

In the meantime, gotta work on my hangover.
