Did anyone notice the change in the XM24? The blades are no longer labeled S35VN and the logo "HINDERER" are no longer embedded in the frame-lock side but it seems to be etched in there... Are there any other changes? Do we think this is going to be permanent?

How did I know that was coming?

Cause that's the first thing I would have asked for too. I was hoping someone else saw this too...

I'll see if I can get a pict...

I just got my XM-24 brand new last week and although the blade is not stamped, The Hinderer name is pretty well embedded in the frame lock side.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

I laid my knives out and every one of them had a different appearance in the "Hinderer" embeddment/etching.
The steels used are 20CV (not etched) CTS-XHP (etched) and S35VN.
These are hand made and will vary by knife/model/batch etc. The stop pin will probably change, I've seen changes in the thumb studs.....
Yes, I imagine things will change/vary/etc.

    Hope that helps

Yes, I think you are correct also after looking at some of mine also. But for those wondering, here are the pictures. Sorry but I had to compare it to an XM18

Give me a few minutes to get a photo set up and I'll post for educational purposes.

The name is machined into the Ti lockside. Variance is probably due to the wear on the tooling, the size of the tool, programming tweaks, etc.

    Never my intent to torture.
However, I'd entertain some if a custom was the reward at the end.

Well, I guess I was wrong and this whole thread was started because I never noticed the variations and thought it was a change...

No worries. I learned a bit from this thread and I'm certain others did too.
If we didn't post questions and such, these Internet forums would be boring.

Yes. As I hear my teenagers say, "True that"
