San Mai and Maple Burl Harpoon Grind

This is a San Mai harpoon grind that I had made for a customer. He had a little change of plans due to financial constraints, so here it is.

The blade is san mai with Aldo's 1084 as the core steel. The sandwich layers are high nickel, low carbon steel.

The handle is some really nice stabilized maple burl from burlsource. It is molded and sculpted to fit smoothly in the hand. The guard is nickel silver.

The sheath is a two piece sheath with a blade portion with a Tom Brown stud, and a holder...or frog...or whatever it is called. The blade slides smoothly in and out of the sheath.

    Dimensions -
    Blade - 7 1/2" tip to guard
    OAL - 13 1/4"

Price - $355 shipped to US. I prefer paypal, but will accept check or money order.

Beautiful knife - missed it by a bad internet connection. The real test of steel is... Can it shave Chuck's beard?

This is amazing. I think I would've pulled the trigger if it wasn't already gone. Keep them coming, Matt. But remember, carbon fiber...

awesome! I haven't bought a fixed blade in years but when I saw the top of the thread, I said to myself, self, you might have to buy this one. I always stop and take a look at your works of art. Congrats to the maker and new owner.

I always love your knives Matt. I keep a pic of one of your harpoons with a cocobolo handle on my phone for inspiration. Excellent work sir.
