That's cool.
The reason I ask is because I'm transferring to Carbondale in the fall to do their forestry program. Plan to spend as much time there as possible and just wondered if it was a cool place to explore. All the pictures I've seen are beautiful but I haven't made it down there yet.

I need to reprofile a little double bit hatchet. So I was looking at those Gransfors Bruk puck stones. Sticker shock ensued. $50+.
Couple of hours later, I walked into the knife section at local chain sporting goods store (rhymes with "the lad in me") and found the Lansky "The Puck" for $7.99. Bingo. That's more my speed.

1911 fans, what are your thoughts on the best bang for one's buck 1911 clone?

What's your budget? Currently, I think the best for the money is the Springfield Range Officer, but it might not be in the price range you're looking. Cheapest reliable 1911 I'd go with is a basic RIA.

I had a dream where someone gave me a set of scales very simmilar to the ones Captain Airyca has for her BK-9... Weird much?
yeah, sh*t just got real! LMAO
+1 for the RIA.
I've had mine for about six years now, and it works just as well or better than my Colts. The pistol is fit together better than my Colts, too. Very good slide to frame fit. The only problem I had with it is the same problem I have with all spur hammer 1911's--the hammer chews up the web of my hand. But that was an easy fix.
The RIA Tactical has everything you need in a 1911 for just a little more $$. And Armscor has a hell of a reputation for backing up their guns. They'll fix your problems in a jiffy.
Another 1911 that have a good rep are the ATI guns. A couple of guys I know swear by them. I like how they are set up and would dearly love one, but I've already got 4 1911's that I never shoot or carry, so I haven't bought one yet. The nice thing about them is that they also come with everything you need and nothing you don't.
Here's a good pic of one by the very prolific blogger, the Mad Ogre.
