Bummer dude, I bet you can just get a replacement blade for far less the cost of the entire knife....well maybe - what do I know?

Contact Emerson. They pride themselves on hard use knives. You may get it fixed for the cost of shipping.

Alright, here's the depressing pics. Anyone know how much a replacement blade costs??

I wouldn't replace the blade if I were the manufacturer and knew how you broke it...

    Yeah, i wouldn't either.

If the warranty won't cover it, I believe a replacement blade runs around $90.

You can always have someone regrind the knife. I know if I did that to one of my knives, I would make it a "Snubby".

I don't think you'd be taking too much off by regrinding if you didn't want to replace the blade. And it would still look good (& functional). IMO

Just send it in to Emerson and get it fixed. If they charge you, it won't be anywhere near what a new knife cost. I don't see why you wouldn't send it in or repair??

Hey mystro good to see you.
I plan on contacting them tmrw, and see what they suggest. I don't mind buying a replacement blade, but i would have rather bought my next Emerson instead, a CQC-8

That's really surprising considering how thick that tip is!

I know how you feel manz..

And mine wasn't even broken by me, but by a stagehand who used my 9 to pry a staple, (plus he took my knife without asking me if he could use it)

    Anyway, Ernie's fixing mine

I'd suggest you contact EKI to see what they can do about yours.

    Cheers and Regards,
    Nick

Emerson is a great company. They went out of their way for me. You may be surprised.

The break on the OP is kinda strange, they normally snap straight, like Nick's did. The black spot where the angle of the break changes on the first photo looks like it could have been an inclusion in the steel.

let us know what emerson says, I've sold off all my knives other than my emersons and zt's, Im kinda rough on knives and I've found that those 2 brands fit my needs the best. I've heard great things about emerson CS and they seem very nice over the phone, just keep us updated.
