I don't know what everyone here's so worked up about. I'm too distracted. I can't stop looking at the huge gap between the tang and scales. It's so... big. My eyebrows have been stuck in a quizzical curl for about half an hour.

We did get them from a shady guy named Garth while we were in Kentucky, it does make one wonder......

It is sad when one has the ability to produce an item, but chooses the path of disrespect and thievery. Shame on those with atrocious intent to profit from the creativity and hard work of others. An inadvertent mistake can be forgiven but this is an obvious slap in the face of Busse and all of us that love the brand.

Nothing pisses me off more than this as from now on all AK's will be subject to doubt. It really is a slap in the face for Jerry and all at Busse who try so hard to maintain the finest warranty and brand support in the industry.

I hope they are named and shamed.............SOON!

unbelievable... and the AK among all...

Anyway it confirms what I thought for Busse purchases --> Busse websites or bladeforum and nothing else. One can never be too cautious.

All of you who are infuriated about this incident please remember that you are supporting the exact same system by
    - buying fake Rolex watches
    - buying fake Luis Vuitton handbags
    - buying fake Burberry polo shirts
    - ...

so be consistent and stop doing it!

Now go and get them Jerry

There are places in other parts of the world where whole shopping districts sell faked goods. Studying the labels and quality of that kind of merchandise is actually very interesting. I'm not aware of anything like that here in the USA though. But it is extremely common overseas in many countries.

No idea but evidently somebody in the US spends approx. 225 billion USD p.a. on counterfeit goods and piracy. Movie-, music and software piracy only sums up to approx. 46 billion USD p.a. - so there is some room left for the stuff I've mentioned

The US is by far the biggest market for counterfeit goods on this planet.

By dollar amount, because these items you mentioned sell for only a couple of dollars overseas.
Volume is much greater overseas. Like I said, we don't have the shopping districts that cover many square blocks and sell only counterfeit goods like other countries have.

While as a custom knife maker I try to make what the customer wants but really...if you want a Busse by all means get one! Don't ask me to make one. I understand the desire and wanting of a quality blade of a particular style and type. Right now, there are people out there making copies of Scagel designs. They put their own name on it.

That said, I believe the designer of a certain thing has the right to the intellectual property and the right to defend it. If I see any copies of anything that another person makes I will call them on it; and in this case, I will also call you Jerry if I find any of yours. It is one thing to pay homage to a knife maker- but quite another to pass off junk as the real thing.
