Is the Koa really dark or is that just the lighting?

Small Bushcrafter with Stabilized Koa scales and orange G10 liners. Eric supplies all the wood for his knives so I get to use different species!
The pics suck but Im shipping them out along with the Roach Belly tomorrow so I won't have time to get better ones outside.

Its really dark. Its like crotch Koa. It still has the different colors if you move it around though.
