Leatherman skeletool???

Just ordered a Leatherman Skeletool, can anyone who is familiar with it please let me know what im in for and if i made a good decision?

I've got one and for the most part, like it. It take more effort to deploy the pliers than I would like and all its tools feel a little flimsy so I'm not sure it's a good choice for hard use. However, it's fairly light and slim so it's easy to carry around.

I also own a Skeletool. Carried it for about two months as an EDC. But then it found its rest in the drawer of the desk at work. It´s not a bad tool. But unfortunatelly the whole tool is a little too slim (for me). When using it longer working it hurts in hand. But if you just want a tool to have with you, when you need it. A Skeletool is ok. The blade is no bad, the used 420HC is a great steel (as LM makes it). The plier is smaller than on other LMs, but good enough for every-day-work.

Imo you made a good decision

Which MT have you chosen? I have a couple of them... and usually one of them in my rucksack or belt. The LM Skeletool is nice to carry on-clipped at any rucksack or belt or whatever.

haven't yet, too many good tools , i think I've decided on juice sized wave ,

but baring that it's between the juice c2/cs4, Skeletool, and a wingman.

I have a Skeletool and I like it. It has fewer tools than some of the others, but it is slim and easy to carry. I think that for the tools that it has it works well.

i concur also...it is lighter and with a belt clip, making it easier to carry in pocket...you want access to pliers this is a lighter way to do it...it ain't the most comfortable in hand to use, but that becomes a minor issue when you NEED to use some pliers...

I have 2 of them and even though long periods of time will cause it to be uncomfortable its not unbearing. I think its a great light edc tool.

I liked my skeletool but it needs a redesign. They need to find a way to engineer out the clip and make the closed form factor smaller and they need to figure out a way to add scissors all while keeping the weight pretty similar. If they do that, it will be my EDC. Until then, I will stick with the Juice S2.

picked to some different juices, my only problem with them is 1) no pocket clip, 2) can't take them apart, I like the idea of being able to switch in and out, but overall, great edc

I have a Juice CS4 and would prefer a skeletool for EDC use because of pocket clip. Just ordered Sidekick. I love all the Leathermans with pocket clips. Its such a great feature. and I think juice series should have them since they are "pocket-size". Skeletool is superb quality and toughness for the weight, but not as many tools as my CS4 but only lacks scissors from the S2

Yeah, i've been trying the juices an i like them but pocket clips are handy, they were losing out to my sak's still, also while i like the addition of pliers I dot' think I've found my leatherman alternative yet

I found the skeletool perfect for me. I viewed it as a high quality pocket knife that also had pliers, screwdrivers, key clip, and bottle opener. The pocket clip and one hand opening were requirements for me. They are just too handy to not have on my edc. The light and thin profile made it easy to carry in dress slacks or jeans. I used the knife several times a day, the pliers and screwdrivers a couple times per week. A couple times a year I went to my bag to get one of my other multi tool to access a tool that the skeletool did not have. I lost my and will be replacing it soon.

I love mine, I don't find it flimsy at all, it is a really beautiful tool too.

I carry it all the time. I got the 420hc blade and it sharpens up really nice and razor sharp. Of course the edge doesnt stay that sharp after some use, but retains a good working edge for quite some time.
The pliers are excellent! Small enough and accurate to use as tweezers, and tough enough for all but the most extreme jobs. I used the cutters to cut steel strapping on pallets with no problem and no damage. They are indispensable.
The screwdriver works in a pinch and is always right there. It's not the best tool for quantity, and it's hard to turn in some situations but I use it Alot! For most jobs, it's what I use.
The bottle opener gets quite a bit of use, and you can use it's edge to pry open containers.
I've EDCed it for about 1-1/2 years... I love it!

After an airplane ride to California, I went to use it so many times but it wasn't at my side. It was then when i realized how much I do use it. I paid something like 70$, and would do so again!!!

I have a leatherman skeletool and it is a very good tool. But in my humble opinion the knife blade which is partial serrated is kind of a pain in the butt to sharpen.

I have an older skele with a PE blade and I also have a PE skele X. That is a great edc imho.

I got the CX version with 154cm plain edge blade. This tool is great fo EDC. Sometimes I even forget it's in my pocket. But I use it for light/medium tasks. For more heavy usage I pull up my trusty Wave. What I'm trying to say is - it's a backup tool for more serious MT. It's kinda there in MT area but IMHO it doesn't have enough tools.
