I have all kinds of ideas for this one, check out the pics!

I'll be back to talk about my plans for this later but here is the basic idea: In palm or regular grip, reverse grip, easy to index and draw, optional pikal grind

In palm grip - works great regular or reverse

Excellent idea. You could even put a little harpoon tip on a verson of that one!

I like that idea, that would be cool! I'm considering a bigger one with a taller blade too. Maybe a poon tip on a taller blade with an option for a reverse edge! Titanium down the road as well... I think this one is a design I will keep making, it feels so nice in the hand.

I have to ask, what does JSB mean? Thanks!

No wait, I googled it, Japanese Style Blades! They are part of my initial plan when I started; neckers, choppers and JSB's!

    Thanks Lycosa!

I have always been a fan! My Dad had 2 really cool Katanas that I grew up looking at.

When I have the money I will buy a Katana, I want one that is made in the 1400's. They are actually pretty cheap for what they are... I don't even care if it has fittngs or a good polish, I just think it would be cool to own something that old and know who made it.

Edo period would be nice too as they really knew what they were doing, the scabbards from that era are the coolest.

Of course a Phill Hartsfield blade must be acquired, his work may be my all time favorite when it comes to Japanese styled American made blades. I hear some dude in NM makes them even better though...

We're on the same page for sure! I designed it for a cord wrap or scales. I have some peel ply textured black G10 coming in for scales!

The 103 stands for the thickness minus decarb, it comes .113" thick. That is M4 steel, it will likely be a go to steel in the future. A2, S7, 3V, M4, D2! Maybe some 1084 and some stainless too, those are the steels I want to focus on. I'll stick to O1, 52100 and 5160 as well, they have proven to be great steels. Most of my new work will be S7, it is my all around favorite steel.

Thanks! When I came up with it I knew I had a winner. I had been thinking for months about the design when I had a new idea for the blade... I ran to the shop and ground it, once I had it in hand I made another! I'm trying to stick to some core designs and I think this will be one of them.

I had a PH Katana! I'd like one from Pohan. Who is the maker in NM? I have one coming from William Nease... a chisel ground kat.

I'm hoping to have them done in a week or so. They are heat treated and I'm hoping to cut up some black G10 today for scales.

Nice! I want a strongboy and a kozuka, of course a katana would be the ultimate!

NM maker... Pohan Leu of course! I hear his knives are top notch. I owe him one for his help!

You have a William Neese Katana coming! Very nice choice, Willy is the man! I follow his videos and his work is as impressive as it gets. He is a really nice guy as well.

There is a very small list of makers work I must own and they are both on it!

I have a katana that needs heat treat, it's chisel ground and made from .315 S7 steel. Waki too but double ground .125" S7.

I have a double ground katana with tsuba in the plans, it is for an order.
