Cool... that koa is going to look awesome. I'm waiting for glue to dry on mine as well... decided to go with the red/black micarta I made.

Mr K should be gluing up my Amendoin wood scales for my LRK+ - some of us are not as "crafty" as others, but I still enjoy seeing your wip pictures -

wow. i don't even know what amendoin wood is. can't wait to see it!

Amendoin (pronounced amen-doe-eeen) is a hardwood from south america with a very tight grain and really beautiful graining, not burl or anyhing, but it is harder than red oak, but less hard than Brazilian Cherry -

We used this on our floor and had quite a few pieces of 3/4" slats left over - I brought some to John and I have a few pieces here as well if someone wanted enough to scale a blade.

I am jealous of you guys getting to do your scales already.
I'll be getting my satin LRK this month though,then I can have at it.
Nice using your home made Micarta PG,that'll be a knife to be proud of.

And Todd,I prefer potato chips on my Ham & Cheese sandwich.

Started my sheath while watching the Tour de France. Knife handle received some finish today.

And now it is done. The heat treat finish was rubbing off in spots, so I decided to lightly sand it off. Sorry for all the photos, but I'm pretty proud of how it came out

That was really fun... so fun that I ordered another LRK+
