Might have been, but last I heard ZT killed the project.
Read various reasons why, not sure which one is correct...probably doesn't matter.

Damn! I have been bitten by the OTF bug and while I have yet to purchase one (this weekend hopefully) I would preorder a ZT OTF in a heartbeat.

Yeah I was biting nails in anticipation of this one myself. It was scraped because Kai USA felt that there was no way to manufacture the internals reliably enough.

Well I do know asheville steel is working on a Dual Action. But I have no idea if they will be ready for blade.

I think Protech's Dark Angel would be a perfect stepping stone to DA OTF for them. I'm willing to bet something like that would steal some Excalibur fans from Piranha.

I would jump at a D/A OTF from protech, as long as it was price competitive.

Yeah, I dont know much. It was actually about a month ago when I was looking at dual actions on line and saw how cheap asheville sells their SA knives when compared to the competition. I thought if anyone could make a dual action and keep the costs down it would be them. So I emailed them expressing my desire for them to do such. They said they are working on and have plans to release a dual action. They couldnt give me an exact date. I dont know how to feel about it though. On one hand you would think they wouldnt even mention something unless the were indeed close to producing it but on the other hand many knife companies tend to prematurely let the genie out of the bottle.

I would love one from ZT. they pump out good blades at good prices.

though that particular knife doesnt light any fires within me.

I agree that it wasnt the most attractive OTF design ive seen but I have no doubts that the ZT would have a been a force to be reckoned with in the F&F department and price.

Well honestly its not like I had a hand in them going forward with the project at all. I simply emailed them expressing interest in such an item and they replied they were all ready working on it.

I think there's room for a more competitively priced larger DA OTF, pushing on a 4 inch blade, say.

There was talk of them making a production version of the Harkins Q, but then it was put on the backburner.

This was a good several years back...............

If only that had become a reality.

That is a unique design for the button, is it wrap around so it can be fired from the top or either side?

And hopefully it would be a better Harkins collaboration than the MOD Triton fiasco...
