my boy, my bk16, and my back yard.....

ok well its not really MY backyard, but its within 3 minutes of driving so its close. I got my boy tonight so we immediately hit the trails. He loves the outdoors just as much as me. Here are the pics from today. Enjoy. Todays adventure will have to hold me over until next Wednesday when i finally get to see him again.

    loving this stay glow camper

Time for a juice break, I used this opportunity to do some knife stuff. Each has the factory edge (since i dont have my sander and wanted to see what a factory becker edge would do since i havent had one in a LONG time )

he found an older boy to chase

Here is what i got from the amazon.com gift card i forgot i had. New waterproof hiking shoes, 2 books, and bug bite relief stuff.

Looks like a nice day out, he's gonna be a real outdoors man when he gets older! (Better start saving up for gold memberships on BF for him...)

Its actually called the ironton rails to trails. Its a converted train track loop that was used to supply the area. It goes in about a 9 mile loop and this part went through our local parkway preserve

Looks like an awesome day out!

I checked Edible Wild Plants out from the library a few weeks ago, I haven't had time to really go through it yet but it looks like a great reference.

Nice SAK, btw... you'd be hard pressed to lose it

Looks like you guys had fun. Is that a giant sink hole your son is standing by? Were you able to identify anything to eat using the book? I keep telling myself to pick up a foraging type book. Let me know how that one works for ya.

    Two things Clich:
    1. Keep those boys around knives and in the woods. Teach them how to survive and how to use and respect of man's finest tool, the knife.
    2. Where did you get that sheath for your 16

Skystorm makes sheaths like that. The one he has looks too be a sharpshooter sheath.

I think that was a perfect day. Looks like you had an amazing time. Your "backyard" kicks butt. Looking forward to finding some places like that around my area. See what kind of trouble my little guy and myself can get into.
