SF/Bay Area - Meet & Greet/Get-together/Show-off/Trade Session?

Hey Guys,

I met up with a local member a week or so ago to do a trade (orca8589) at my retail store (HobbyTown USA) in Concord, CA...and I mentioned to him how cool it would be to do a bay area get-together. Show off our knives, hang for a bit, maybe trade/sell, etc.

I have the perfect space for doing this with my retail store (we have a large RC track as well with lots of table space). Would any of you guys be interested in doing this?

I've got at least 4-5 employees that are knife-nuts as well and a few customers as well. So I know we could make it worthwhile if other BF members wanted to do this.

Let me know! Post here your thoughts - And pass the word along if you think others might want to know about this.

Lets see if we can get the ball rolling!

I've been off n on the forums for a few years now... I'm currently in Napa and would love to meet up some afternoon. I know I have a few friends up here who'd be up for it as well, depending on the day/time/etc.

I'll let j karp 53 (Walnut Creek) know about this, and maybe a few others from the surrounding area can get here for a get together.

Trent Rock grew up here in concord, but he's in Colorado now; maybe he can meet with us when he's in town sometime.

So here's the location that I could make available to do this. As I mentioned we have an indoor Radio Control Car track in our shopping center and inside there is lots of tables/chairs and "pit" space that we could use

Would a Friday or Saturday Night work for guys? Or Saturday day/late morning?

I'm open to any of those and could make something happen. Let me know and then I'll pick a date a few weeks out to give everyone some time to plan and we'll make it happen.

Anyone ever do any of these before? Anything else should we plan for? This will be a first for me (so take it easy on me. LOL).

im down for this but my wife and kid would have to come along too... hope thats not a problem.

Sure no problem! We have families/kids in there all the time! I have a 10 yr old son and 6 year old daughter and they have fun just running around in the place. LOL.

It's just an old rundown empty spot in our shopping center (used to be a salvation army) that got permission from the landlord to use and turned into a place to drive RC cars.

sounds good, we should have a tentative list on who may be attending. ive ran with several get togethers for other hobbies and im not sure how casual its going to be but if the group gets large enough we could do a raffle and maybe an auction... food/pizza would be nice too . if the group is small i dont mind shooting the shit with you guys still.
