2012 HTM Forum Gunhammer: Blade finish -- *INPUT NEEDED*

Time to get things moving on the details of the HTM Forum Gunhammer (see this thread, especially Hark's post)! Right now, the only feature that's set in stone is that it'll have a manual flipper with Maxx Glide bearing pivot. Blade shape will be either Bowie or Torpedo (you choose at the time of ordering). The blade steel will be a premium PM steel -- possibly Elmax. The cost will be $310 per person for the version with anodized aluminum handles, and we'll need a minimum of 25 orders to go ahead with this.

I've already started a thread soliciting input on the handle anodizing color. Another option we need to decide on is the blade finish. The options are: stonewashed, non-glare (tough to describe unless you've seen it in person -- it sort of looks like a cross between stonewashed and bead-blast, but without the pores that make the latter blade finish relatively susceptible to corrosion), and DLC. Please vote for which one you'd like to see in the poll at the top of this thread, and of course feel free to clarify/elaborate in the comments (e.g., if you voted for stonewashed but would be fine with non-glare too).

Picture to help a bit: the Bowie flipper at the top has a non-glare blade finish, while the Radian auto (with a bit of glare from the flash) at the bottom has a stonewashed blade finish.

I voted for stonewashed, but I'd be fine with any of them. DDR finishes are always great.

I voted for stonewash but non glare would be ok too. Not really a fan of coated blades though.

the only finish I like better than stonewash is my DDR Gun Hammer with the hand-rubbed finish.

That's gonna jack up the price a lot because of how labor intensive it is. There's a reason you don't see a hand rubbed finish on his non-customs.

I don't think he was suggesting it as an option for the HTM Forum Gunhammer -- I read the post as him saying that he voted for stonewashed because hand-rubbed (which isn't an option in the poll) is the only one he likes more.

Ah. Totally misinterpreted that. It's been a long day.

Stonewashed! Its funny I suggested this in the original thread before I saw this threat. I just read about all this tonight and glad I saw it in time.

This poll has been a rout for a while, so I'm going to go ahead and call it: the winner, with 30 out of 36 votes cast, is Stonewashed.

I think posters can close their own threads, right? Otherwise, I'll close this for ya if you want.

Yeah, I have a "close thread" option, but I figured I'd leave it open for discussion. If you can close the poll without closing the thread, though, that would be great. (Same goes for the blade steel poll.)
