I am looking forward to joining the fiddleback family!
Honestly, the lighting at this show is so bad I'm sure the pic is the best I can get here. Then its the trip home. This won't be quick. The grind is convex and goes quite high up the blade. In other words it is a very high convex sabergrind.

It does. I have one wearing beautiful stabalized black ash burl that I'll likely list later. Unless it sells this morning.

I'm holding this one for you. I see what you mean about the pic. Its a beautiful Hunter. The lighting at Blade Show is the worst ever. That pic is taken on the carpeted showfloor with a phone.

They look great. I'm glad to see I'm not the only guy drooling over the camp knife.

Dang! you Heber you lucky dog. Well you've got my addy now all you have to do is make a sheath and send it my way. You'll have to let us all know about the Camp knife when you get it in hand as far as specs and handling goes. Great score my friend i'm jealous.

    Welcome aboard LCconvert,

This is certainly for Andy to answer, but I thought I might try to help you in the meantime. Sort of calm your anxiousness.

I have used PayPal to purchase knives from Andy numerous times without a hitch (Bushcrafter, Bushfinger, Hunter, Hiking Buddy, etc.). Andy's instructions for PayPal payments are shown in his "New Lineup and Contact Thread" and I have also shown them below for clarity:

    "paypal payments:
    fiddlebackpayments at att dot net"

As far as shipping goes, I think he normally ships everything on one day toward the end of the week. But I might be a miss on this so please allow me some latitude.

I can't wait for you to get your hands on that Hunter...it is a wonderful knife! Take care.

    P.S,
Andy, I hope I haven't spoken out of turn. Please do not hesitate to correct me if I'm in the wrong here. No worries. I know you are busy and was trying to help this fella out.

    Mark,

    That helps a lot, thanks.

I am hoping there might be a chance I could get it by Friday. I am going on a camping trip with the family and would love to take it along. But if that is not possible...I completely understand. Andy is a busy man.

I am just happy to be getting a fiddleback!!!

Your welcome LCconvert. Andy is a good man and you're getting one heck of a knife. But then, you already knew that!

I hope you have an enjoyable camping trip and I also hope you can get that knife in your hand before you leave.

    Take care.

Hey LCconvert look at it this way...and I say this—with my tongue in my cheek —as a Canadian customer who waited a few weeks for my knife to travel through International Shipping and Customs (which is absolutely the standard shipping timeframe for me BTW so not meant as a dig at Fiddleback's shipping process at all): even if your knife doesn't make it on this particular camping trip I know that myself and, I'm sure, others here would feel plenty comfortable telling you not to worry...the knife will happily go by your side on every camping trip you can imagine in the future! It's a knife for life, no doubt!!! That being said I can absolutely understand your excitement haha. Well worth the wait.

That Hunter looks particularly sweet. A nice stout, hard working knife with a handle to match. Congrats on your purchase LCconvert

The wait makes it sweeter, IMO. Due to a mixup in communication between Andy and myself, I waited 5 months for a blade after making payment. (it's a long story, started with the "run knives back in Nov, don't ask). Andy was incredible throughout the whole process! He sent along info as he had it. As busy as he is, I am amazed he personally answers the phone and does not rush to hang up. For what it's worth, after all these years, I didn't realize his ship day is typically Thursday. Knowing that changes my expectation on when I thought it would arrive.

In hindsight, I would have gladly waited much, much longer than I did to get my Bushfinger. this is the only custom maker I am interested in buying from, from now on.

Andy, hope you guys have a great time in Mississippi with your family! Thanks for keeping is posted. I look forward to seeing the "After Blade show sale". If the customer wants a custom leather sheath, I'm more then happy to hook them up.

I have a scout camp out the 22nd and 23rd in Zion National Park. Sounds like there is a chance that I'll have a new knife or two in time for the trip. *fingers crossed*
