I first wanted this knife in August, 2010.... but then, so did everyone else. They were in & out of stock. I kept looking at them on the web - finally, in person - when a friend got one. Another big wow. Skip ahead to the Blade Show - my first trip there. I determined, on the way, that I had two must see's - if there - Lion Steel and Arno Bernard. Sadly, at least for Mr. Bernard, Sr, I found Lion Steel - and Gianni - first. I waited until I was leaving - but my only purchase at the show was a Ti silver SR-1 - and I bought it from Gianni himself! Fortunately, I was riding back to Birmingham with a friend when I found the problem - I can't let go of it!

I know, titanium is non-magnetic. Little iron in my hand, anyway. But, try as I may - I can't put the new knife down! It's breaking-in nicely, too... and rapidly. All the way back to Birmingham yesterday, that knife went from one hand to the other. The same thing this AM (I am typing with one hand...). Very nice knife... better than the LionSpy by a considerable amount - in my eye - in fit/finish/function - better, too, in design (I perused two samples at a local store earlier this year.). The SR-1 is a super pocket knife - a modern day classic. I had tunnel vision yesterday, but the Al version was nice, too - as were, I feel certain, the other Lion Steel knives in the other case.

Thanks, Gianni, and it was great meeting you.

Well, rain delayed my photo session - finally quit, so out I went - as did Chester, our feral before Christmas kitty. I had to get some sandals - bring camera & knife in - and chase the wet rat. He is too cute - maybe nine months old - had to catch him. Got him - took him to the bathtub for his escape attempt dictated bath - fun for both of us. My blood loss was minimal. Back to phot...

Here is my vast collection of Lion Steel knives - a couple of weeks old DX Hest/f 2.0 and yesterday's buy - an SR-1 Ti G:

Yeah, big collection... two! There will be more...

That Chester part made me laugh. Looks very solid. Your collection has one more then mine. I just have the 2.0. The Bottle opener gets used as much as the blade. It's a regular in my rotation.

Is that a hamon on the SR1 or just fingerprints/lighting?
