I have some new fossil walrus ivory artifacts and some I just am now getting to fool with. These were one piece I cut up for knife material. The above is a single piece , other is a set (see next item)
Fossil walrus ivory artifact 4.3 ounces. From Savoonga Alaska. Was once a fire starter about 3,000 years ago. I left some of the natural stone cutting tool marks. The would be a good hidden tang as is but could be cut for a set of scales. 4 ¼ inches long x 1 ½ across the widest x ¾ thick. (half inch thick at the tip) . Natural holes from use as fire drill go all the way through. This piece probably wore out and got discarded ). $190
Another item below- a set of scales
Fossil walrus ivory artifact scales set 2.9 ounces. 3 ½ inches long x almost 2 inches wide x ¼ inch thick. Not uniformly thick has slight taper to one edge. Eskimo fire drill originally from Savoonga Alaska, about 3,000 years old. Original fire holes go all the way through. Original stone cutting tool marks still visible. Very stable (some restoration of natural crack along one edge) , good colors. $150
Best way to buy is from my web site using the shop cart
First item is at the top of the page-- scales is about halfway down. Or email - post me for another payment method. Oh- sales in the USA only please
Not just knives but a way of life. Not just raw materials but a way of thinking.
