nor do i care what fanboys have to say about my comments or if anyone cares if i'll ever buy an Emerson cause again as stated i wont n' never will,,,,,,,, i was just pointing that out cause well,,,,,, they are notorious for this kind of crap,,,,,, judging by your twink-like, spray tan, 200$, twinkle bead, fanboy Emerson attitude, you probably have lots of them and accept the poor quality control and that's OK with me, does it bother you that much that i said something about your beloved substandard terribly overpriced under-quality grail brand,,,, i prefer not to have to take my knives apart or send them back before use, maybe that's just me but that's not acceptable..... i also reserve the right to use commas in any manner i wish, carry on,,,, twinkle toes.
Hark, that is totally spot on thinking. But, if he has better things to do than take a tiny amount of time to help his customers out then you shouldn't hesitate to take your business elsewhere. Too many businesses getting used to the faceless, impersonal internet transactions to provide even half-butted customer service to even their loyal customers. Sounds like he has a severe case of being better than his customers.
If you don't care about what other people think in terms of your lack of Emerson knife-buying habits, then why would you post them in the first place? You also make a lot of ridiculous assumptions in your post, overuse ellipses, and force some sort of pseudo-macho attitude that is simply laughable. Nothing I said screams fanboy. In fact, I own a single Emerson knife and am far from a fanboy. Keep trying though; it's amusing.
P.s. How can you see my spray-tan through your computer screen?
I buy a lot of emersons and really hope I don't have the time to deal with this type of dealer please out him here or send me an email. With international buyer he should double triple check the order.
Can't believe he has the balls to tell you to go somewhere else. Well he's going to lose a lot of people after the dust settles down on this one.
Definitely let it be known who this dealer is - I don't want to give him a dime.
My friend something I have learned in my life is that $hit happens and is a waste of time getting mad about it. Lemons are everywhere: phones, computers, cars, knives, etc.
Emerson has great ergos and a great warranty. I would be more mad at the crappy guy he dealt with for not checking the knife before.
I know it looks like crap but they will fix it; it shouldn't have happened but it did. I also think that maybe someone tapered with it and changed scales because is absurd how off it is.
He can return it or send it to Emerson to get it fixed. Getting pissed of is not worth it; disappointed? Sure
Cheers
We understand your view but you have to understand this isn't the norm with EKI knives, this is simply the exception. With what ever knife brand you are buying now, its the same--there is a chance you will get some extreme crap F&F.
My suggestion is to have an open mind and don't shut anything out without a first hand experience.
It's a sign you need to send it off to be pimped out with custom scales. Too bad it wasn't 2 oversized scales. Would have been a quick do it yourselfer job.
Emerson is supposed to have flawless CS, although I don't know about TA time though. I would send it in. Throw it in a usps small flat rate priority box, $5-6
man!!! if it left the company like that you shouldn't have to pay a dime. if the dealer tampered with it that is one thing but for a employee to put that out is sad. contact emerson if your dealer is being a ass and I bet they will pay all the shipping just to not have a product like that out there. then tell the guy you buy your knives from he has lost a loyal customer and probably many more since you will be posting about it all over the internet. I wouldn't trust your dealer though since he already sent you a messed up blade to begin with and now this. bust him out and let everyone know who to stay away from.
sorry for the trouble sir. it always sucks to get a brand new thing just to send it off and have it fixed.
Wow, that sucks. I sure hope this does not turn you off Emerson. I have at least 6 Emersons and they are all perfect to say the least. Emerson will make this right for you, they should really even pay the shipping charges for you IMO. I would also like to know who this dealer is? Nobody will fault you for spilling his guts here.
I just looked at the pics again and I have to wonder if some one in Emersons shop was smoking crack that day. That should never have made it out into the world.
Lousy fit and finish is *not* a good reason not to buy an Emerson!! Don't you remember that his knives are magical and are the only knives trusted by the SEALs and were used to kill Bin Ladin?
:eye roll ad infinitum:
Soooo...i'm still waiting for a dealer name. If you don't want to post it just PM me and I will do it for you.
UPDATE UPDATE
Thanks for all the words of encouragement, also did not expect this thread to get over 1,000 views so quickly. Thanks for all the PMs offering help as well.
Emerson has said that I can send in my Mini Com and offered to replace it with a similar model, or let me pick from one of the ones they have in stock. They have also offered to credit me for shipping cost if I include a copy of the shipping receipt. They also said that I can send in my Mini 15 for sharpening in the same package so I wont have to pay for that as well, yipee!
The dealer, James Marsh who goes by Action Concepts on eBay, has apologized but still will not help out with shipping. He offered me free shipping on a knife I buy from him in the future so I guess it is an acceptable middle ground although I needed help with THIS knife. He has also promised to go over the knife I get with a fine tooth comb so I will request he do that as well for all his international customers to stop something like this from happening again.
