Man the Canadian community is really getting thin here. When I first joined Bladeforums this place was booming but now its like a tomb. I wonder how long it will be before Spark decides to just shut it down completely?

I agree it is quiet in here. I like having a Canadian area. We need to make more threads about Canadian makers, who we like, what we collect and use....I don't know....hockey was out for a topic this year but hey there is always next year...GO LEAFS GO!!!
I find most of the threads here are about laws, border issues, etc. and not too much about knife chat, makers and so on...
Anyways, here's some knife content:
Large Sebenza classic and small micarta classic
Strider SMF, SnG, and PT
ESEE-6 with Spec Ops sheath, RC-3, and an Izula-II

Yeah, it sure isn't what it used to be. It kinda sucks, I don't even know what happened to most of the guys who used to hang out here. I haven't seen them on the forums at all. I hope everyone is ok.
I agree. The Canadian Connection is a pretty dull forum. A few months ago ,when W&W in Vancouver brought in some examples from several new companies as an experiment, I posted some of my impressions of the new lines. Not many people responded and I actually got one criticism for posting too often!
I guess this forum is just too small a pond for most people to bother with.
I think a lot of people went to the knife dog forum. I don't post much in canadian connection, but i do look at it as part of the standard sweep.
I have checked in on and off lately, but with us being broke as hell since buying a house my new knife enthusiasm has decreased a fair bit. Plus with so many other subforums and summer coming, it takes away time even more.
But my Christmas Exchange thread is ready to start in a couple of months!!![]()
This forum may be slow, but in Western Canada, knifemakers are going stong and growing. I held a hammer-in at my place this last weekend and what a turn out. Had many people from all over western Canada, Colorado,Mississippi and Montana. Everyone had a great time meeting new people, learning different aspects of knifemaking and even quite a bit of hands on learning as well. We went from about 8:00am till midnight Friday and Saturday.

I was actually excited to see a 'Canadian' sub-forum on the site when I joined... But it seems the vast, vast majority of discussion is elsewhere, too bad.
Jim- wish I could have been there, but my son's birthday, good friends birthday, children committments would not allow it. Great to hear it went well, some day my friend.
There is a way to get things going again- everybody on this thread needs to start a new one! I'll get the ball going in a minute!
I hold local GTG's at my shop all the time. If you are in the GTA feel free to come by, we have meet ups quite often for the GTA.![]()

Boatbuilder, I was talking with Steven Kelly and he only had great things to say about your hammer in as well as the hospitality of you and your wife. You had some top quality guys come out. Congratulations with the success. Those American brothers really like our Canadian beer, eh![]()
sure, I am just recovering from knee surgery so when i am able I will post some.![]()
I dont really know what happened either. Started getting quiet ever since the new forum format, then familiar names started getting thin and I stopped checking in.
