    Hi all. Finished this piece up for a customer. We will be adding this to the web site soon. Hope you like it.

    Steel: 1095 Heat Treated Spring Steel

    1909 Bolo Machete

    Measurements:
    Total Length = 19 3/8 ”
    Blade Length = 13 5/8 “
    Blade Width = 2 1/16”
    Blade Thickness = 3/16 “
    Handle Length = 5 5/8”
    Handle Width = 1 3/16”
    Handle: Walnut
    Weight = 1 lbs 4 oz.

    That looks nice. The originals are becoming expensive and it is great to have one we can play with. What kind of edge did you put on this? The 1909 traditionally has a single ground convexed edge on the right side.

    Thanks guys. It's a Flat (V) ground. The customer that I made it for didn't want it on just one side. That was a discussion we had about the 1909 Bolo.

    That's a great pattern! with some patina that thing would look antique! I don't know all my steels, is that a carbon or stainless? I'd want it in a carbon, it would look so good once it's used. Great job!

    Red look above it says 1095 on the steel. I like this pattern and style although i think the handle would be more grippier is that even a real word, anyway in canvas mircarta. But it would make a heck of a chopper i think like a junglas only longer or a beefy machete. Nice work on this one Archer.
