How do these two compare to other Spydercos in general quality and usefulness? I prefer having no choil and all edge on knives this size. Thanks.
Just got this persistence in today. Some interesting differences between the 2 knives. They might have the same look and feel, but they are really different.
The G10 is a lot thinner on the persistence.
It seems like the persistence would be sturdier by how much of the blade is actually in the handle. The tenacious has 1 big phospher washer and 1 small one. The persistence has equal sized big washers on both sides. My tenacious has seen a lot of use as you could probably tell.

The only other spydie I have is a delica. I would say they are on par with it. I find myself grabbing the persistence or tenacious over the delica. I've been carrying the persistence since I bought it and love the size. I like the g10 more than frn too.
I don't think having more blade tang in handle will help much. The lateral pressure will be spread among the pivot and tang as much as the washer area.
The further the lock engage the tang (i.e the Persistence case) will result in vertical pressure to blade spine when opened will be transferred at an angle to the lock bar. If the lock bar meets the tang about the same height as pivot center, the spine pressure is transferred 90 degree directly towards the length of the lock bar. The longer the tang end from pivot center, this pressure will move further to the back of handle instead of directly into the length of tang due to axial force redirection.
Sorry, no tool to draw the diagram. I hope it's not confusing. Just imagine if the tang meeting point with lock bar is 3"' below the pivot (lengthen the tang more).
All I know is, with both knives pivots tightened up the same (both fall free when you hold the liner in) the tenacious has a tiny bit of wiggle side to side and persistence is solid. Probably due to having 2 big washers instead of one big one small.
