so, li'l bit of a deck project today at the girlfriend's. threw the SWK (Semi Wharncliffe Kephart) on my hip. probably not necessary, but it made me feel good. i actually used it a bit. i scored some marks on wood to cut - no pencil necessary. i had to notch out some molding to fit over L-brackets. and, used it for the cleanup. and yes, i even pried a bit. i was not scared. have i mentioned this li'l blade is beefy?

see, i told you it looks good on the hip. dead sexy...that's what it is. my gf figured out what i was doing, "Wait a minute...am i just making sure i get the knife in the pic??" and she was making fun of me...hence me laughing.

oh. and look what else it can do!

Nice beefy user. Can't wait for you to put it to use and share in your glee. Really enjoying this community on blade forms. What a great family of knife afficionados

Nice to see your SWEDC is getting some use. The viKtim has taught us the strength of JK's knives - I was not worried before, but now I am even more fearless when using my knives.

Of course I typically only use them for cutting tasks - you'll never get in trouble if that's all you do with them.

for some reason, my "in use" pics always seem to include food.

the above was from last weekend. but just last night, i went to my gf's for dinner. she had picked up some good hamburgers from the local meat market, and we were trying to figure out what to go with them. she sent me after some steak fries. so, i'm in my car, and she comes to door and says, "What if we make some? I have potatoes but need some new oil." i told her it sounded good to me, but then i got excited, "I'll do it!" i happened to bring my JK SWKEDC with me and i had just sharpened it. it sure makes cutting up potatoes fun.

it made quick work of them.

my gf is starting to come around on the whole knife thing, i think.

Nice! glad she is coming around. My wife is used to me taking pictures of food prep with our knives.

I found that potatoes will put a nice patina on the blades - one of a few typical things that I do that cause patina.

    Thanks for the pictures -

Hope you enjoy 'em fellas, I took mine "gardening" today, it bore away about 50 years of paint on a porch rail I wait to put on and had to find the screws heads to remove them, cut weedeater line, cable, low hanging branches and what all else, then after it was cleaned up it fed me my dinner. Got to start carrying my camera more often again,
