Mine arrived today and this thing is sweet!! Not a thing I don't like about it. I love the sub-frame lock, very easy to work. For those of you who might be on the fence, here are a few comparison pictures.

I just ordered one today, I've been waiting to get this knife for a while. Although I am quite curious as to why they changed the handle material to aluminum rather than the earlier g10 version. I don't have a problem with it at all, but does anyone have any idea what the problem was with the g10 model?

The G-10 model worked fine, but the Aluminum adds more rigidity to the frame. Cutting out a big piece of the handle makes the back handle more prone to flexing. It's not an issue with Carbon fiber, or even with thicker G-10.

Since the Knockout was designed to be slim in the pocket, we decided to return to the original aluminum frame.

I always hopes it would return to aluminum. Now seeing it beside the Blur this is now a must buy on my list!! I think the Diskin hunter though has dropped from that list though seeing the changes. Will have to get my hands on it to be sure but after seeing these pics I'm going to grab one of these based on pics alone! Thank you for your post! I hope this becomes the new Blur *nudge nudge*

I had my eye on this knife for awhile now; that handle just looks awesome! I love that shape. If their aluminum handles [haven't had any experience with em besides the zt 0400 scavenger], and if it feels anything like the 0400, then I am more than happy =]. A CF version with composite line in a U to match the scale groove above the pivot ! Well, ofc we can always let our minds wander but this knife at this price, and quality is outstanding, I hope to get one in the coming months.

Thanks for those comparison pics! It really does put things in perspective, and only reaffirms that threads are boosted by 10x with pics to match!

So is there a prototype CF knockout out there?

No, there are no plans to make a Carbon fiber Knockout, cool as that would be. When I mentioned that Carbon Fiber works well with the Sub-Frame Lock mechanism, I was referring to the ZT 0777.
