STOP! There was no need to take it apart.

You just needed to carefully grasp the blade and pull it out until it *clicks* and resets.

Then it should be good to go.

Looks like a clone anyhow. No...?

Is that one of those gold Chinese Scarab clones?
But yes, if the blade doesn't come out all the way, all you need to do is like gzb said.

Pretty simple if you didn't lose any parts, like the tiny conical springs that engage the locks.

Put it back together and pull out on the blade until it locks...

    There's a lesson here.

When your car won't start, don't take a wrench and start dismantling it w/o any idea of what you're doing...

hahaha fortunately if it was a car or motorcycle i would be just fine.... either way my reasoning for not being able to put it back together was simple. the spring with those tabs was backwards one tab is slightly longer then the other the longer one should be at the bottom smaller at the top then it goes back together with ease. then a little messing with it while pulling and it clicks and locks then it works fine... thanks a lot for your help guys
