    Printing a thread

Some folks have asked how to print out an entire thread. Most of them don't have PM or email rights, so I though I would let the whole group know.

Just above the first post on a thread page there is a box labeled "Thread Tools". Click this and the window will open and show the options. Click "Show Printable Version", and it will reformat the page at a text string. Hit your print key/icon or whatever you use to print a page, or put the cursor on the page and right click , and select print......remove copy from printer tray.

You can email the thread from "Thread Tools".
You can also subscribe to the thread and get a notice when there is a new post.

I will also take this space to please ask users to fill out their profile with the info requested. Please use real info. Birth year, location, occupation, skills and hobbies, etc. All this helps us help you.
(Note - If you are someone who fears identity theft, select "Display Only Age" and no one will be able to see your exact DOB)

If you want to print a picture and the surrounding text (screen capture) with XP or vista center up the picture and click prt sc (print screen) then open MS paint, click edit and then click paste, click file and then click save as, and pick a spot to save your screen shot, and you will get something like this

I've just been saving the threads as html files.

In Firefox it's "right click" "save page as"

It doesn't lose the photos the way that printing seemed to for me.

Multiple pages are a pain, I start a folder- rename it and save all thread pages in that folder.

I think that some folks print out tutorial threads and ones with really good info and put them in a work book for the shop.

    That's what I'm getting at.

The print thread feature, at least when I tried it only shows the links to the photos, not the photos

    Saving the threads keeps them.

I'v also selected, copy pasted them into MS Word document files and that keeps the photos - but it takes a lot of editing to clean it up.
