That picture is -- sadly!-- not my collection.

However, I pulled it from this post, which also features this picture:

By this, the stag knife looks to be a 66 Moose featuring both spear and clip point blades, both boasting a beautiful, use-earned patina. :-)

Coyote77, I agree with Doug-- that goldenrod bone is stunning, and your photographs capture it to good effect.

Thanks Doug! I haven't been around much lately ..... had some other things going on and needed a time-out for a while. I just popped in to see what's going on and thought I'd post a couple old pics when I saw this thread. I've got a couple busy months coming up, but once winter rolls around I'll probably be back. Good to see you again my friend!

Glad you did, and hope to see you again when things settle down. You were among the first to make me feel welcome here, and I appreciate your kindness.

Thanks Sarah, I do like the combo of the blades. This little one is growing on me. The stag is top shelf, IIRC, the last time I spoke with GEC, I was told that the genuine stag was the only one to come in rounds, the other 2(burnt and natural) come in halves.

That looks really great! Is it arrowhead jigged bone as in the following GEC picture, only with two blades? Or something else?

And Kris, I'm bringing this most recent picture of your barlow over as well-- great picture of a fine knife:

Yup that's what it is, arrowhead jigged bone with two blades. The smaller blade is the clip blade GEC uses on the 25 which I haven't used much.

Impressive display there Jim, appreciate you sharing it.

I've got the Spear blade's twin: First pic extreme right, mine's No.9 . Can't remember the handle name, something Barnboard?? sees a lot of pocket time though.

    Thanks, Will

Some elusive drop points in the mix as well!

Is that green HME in the above photograph, 2nd from left, or something else?

I never feel underbladed when carrying. A wharncliffe or sheeps version would probably seem like more knife edge, but I love the blade shape of the clip, straight edge with the belly curve at the end.

    I want this one....

Tell me about it! That picture was directly responsible for my getting the same ebony barlow, as I mentioned earlier in this thread.

    Great picture, Finedges.

    Here's my barlow today:

Those Acorns are massive! Must come from very old trees I suppose?

The 25 is a very fine pattern in my experience.

Yes, old growth from protected land. Now I'm wishing I'd thought to look up and had taken some pictures of the trees, instead of just gathering some of the acorns. Whoops!
