Started getting it this morning. Never gave it an id or password, just canceled out. Did some checking and sitemetrics seems to be a legitimate website metrics outfit, so it would appear that there's either something wrong at BF's end, or at theirs.

You guys are being a bunch of little girls.
Not really- it's easy to "Assume" it's nothing then when something malicious occurs you're screwed- I'd prefer to question everything unusual and assume it's malicious until proven otherwise.

This is curious to me. For a while now, I've been using Firefox's browser (version 13.0.1, on a Win7 system), along with a couple of add-ons for it. Namely, I'm using an add-on called 'Adblock Plus', and another one called 'NoScript'. These add-ons allow selective blocking of ad content, and also selectively block scripting (java, I think) on sites that one might not trust. Some time back, when first connecting to the BF site, at times sitemeter would seem to take forever to finish loading or doing whatever it does. I got very annoyed at the slowdown caused by this. So, I eventually got around to using the above-mentioned add-ons to block it. Apparently, it's working very well. I haven't seen any of these pop-ups.

BTW, my browser is also set to block pop-ups in general. Whatever the case, between the browser settings and the add-ons, I haven't seen any suspicious pop-ups in a couple or three years, at least.

Looks like BF isn't alone in this. I was doing some Googling on the criteria "tracking.sitemeter.com pop-up", and there seem to be a lot of other sites (forums, blogs, etc.) experiencing the same issue, all within the last day or so. Here's the link to my Google search:
