Yes the jyd2 seems like a great knife. I really wish kershaw would take a step back on some of their
pocket clips though.
Well I got my first JYD yesterday, The CPM-D2 composite version. I can honestly say I'm in love with this knife.
The ergos are beyond great. really, the knife fits my hand perfectly which is something I can't say about a lot of other knives. The edge was a little less than stellar out of the box which is okay for me as I was planning on giving it the Edge Pro treatment. For being a rather heavy knife (5.8 oz) The knife carries extremely well, which brings us to the pocket clip which is pretty much the only negative thing about this knife. The pocket clip is very....odd. It's very curvy and large and while in the pocket, screams "I'm a knife" which I don't like. The blade is my favorite part of the knife. I think it's really neat how they combine the two steels into one. the copper liner between the two steels adds a bit of character as well.
I would LOVE to get one of the TI/sg2 limited versions. that would be sweet!. If anyone has one or any other JYD for that matter, please post some pics!
Here's some of mine.
The pretty edge.
Thank you Kershaw and Tim Galyean for producing such a brilliant knife!

Nice pics and great edge! I have really been wanting to get one but I keep putting it off. I love the blade shape though. I have one of the smaller regular JYD framelocks and I think this thread may have pushed it up a few spots on my list...
Just got mine today and I love it!

Yes I did it myself. Also fixed my G10 Needswork. Now it doesn't need work.
You need a 2/56 tap and a #50 wire size drill bit.
Google is your friend, got my tap on ebay for under $5 shipped. The liners are kind of hard to drill so pre-drill with 1/16 bit to save your hard to come by #50 bits.
There is a cut out in the liner so be careful to place your clip above it.
The regular JYD doesnt get much carry time now that I have my 560 but It is a great little knife for what you get. I mainly got it to go with my other Kershaw blades but the blade shape is great for edc.
I just got a blem Junkyard Dog 1725CB (gray G10 with the rivet pattern like the one in mmkjohnson1's comment) from Kershawguy earlier this week, and I love it! The only thing that I can see "wrong" with it is that the scales are two slightly different shades of gray (which I think is actually kind of cool). It came quite sharp (but a little "catchy") and after I stropped it on the back of an old belt (no compound), it was scary sharp (push cut through People magazine inner pages, even across the grain of the paper). Thanks for another great knife, Dave!
It's good to see some JYD II love. The JYD II is one of my all time favorite larger folders. The blade IMO features a stellar profile and unlike a lot of larger folders is about the right thickness and in no way overbuilt as far as I'm concerned. A true classic for Kershaw.
That's one Kershaw I haven't bought yet. Guess I should start looking for one
