How hard is it for you edge pro users to get a hair whittling edge? I have the chosera stones and a leather strop loaded with green compound. I can get a hair whittling edge about every 5th sharpening. Does anybody have any good advice on getting more consistent hair whittling
Edges.

Which grits are you using?
Your knife isn't always the same (small damages, fatigued steel), nor are you...
A factor might be the amount of work you do on a knife. Don't expect a great edge immediatly after important thinning or angle change. The blade will need some rest (and so will you I guess). Try again next day and you will be amazed.
I start with the 400 grit and work my way up to 10,000 and then strop.
And which in between

The 400,1,000,3,000,5,000,10,000,then the strop.
Consistency, pressure applied is important. light strokes at higher grits, and for stropping I use the weight of a knife or less.
