trident question

I have been looking at the sog trident for a while now. however when i handled one at a local store, it seemed like the spring wasn't powerful enough, and it didn't flip the blade out very fast (i can flip unassisteds open faster). i was wondering if this was normal, or if the one i handled needed greased or was a dud. thanks.

blade screw to tight or something wrong it should open faster than you could possibly open by hand
