Mrs Pit had the day off today so we headed off to one of our favourite areas, the dogs love to go here as well so they can swim !

As we arrived back near the parking lot I found this huge wood ants nest !

We've had an explosion in the black bear population this year (in Virginia). I've seen about 3 sows, 6 or 7 cubs, and 2 boars ... and I wasn't out there looking for them.
Not that looking for a black bear would be a good idea!![]()
