Just sent this out. I sold someone this style knife with a black canvas micarta handle and he wanted one like it to give to a friend. Woo-Hoo! First customer is a repeat customer!

I like it a lot! Do you make your own sheaths?

It looks great, too! I really need to learn some leather working techniques.

Most of what I learned was from the Chuck Burrows basic sheath making DVD. That alone will get you further along than a lot of the sheaths I see for sale here. The tools are pretty cheap too. the DVD's about $45 or available for rent at smartflix (along with a bunch of other letather work stuff). Also, I use Obenauf's heavy duty leather perservative and then their leather oil on top of that. It's amazing stuff and I think really adds a great finish to the leather.

    Nice Mike. Knife and sheath.
How did you finish the 1084 ? It looks good in your pics.

Thanks Dozier. It's hand finished to 800 grit. It's from Aldo's. I don't know if that makes a difference with the finish or not, I haven't used 1084 from anywhere else. When I sharpen, I use a flat hone that I made for sharpening salon shears so it has a mirror polished edge. It seems to set off that flat, 800 grit finish. It always reminds me of pin striping on a car.
