    Just found in my stuff a buck knife my wife bought for me a the PX in Ft. Sill in 1985. What type of steel was used?

    I think it was 425... Any pics... we all like pics...

    Sounds like (if 1985) it should be the old 425M as Early says.......I too, would like to see a pic of a One-Dot Buck.

    I have a 1 dot 422 in the collection. I can't say that I know the background of the 1 dot though.

    Schloz, Thanks for the photo. I guess thats what PCL's is stamped though he hasn't said. DM

    All the early Bucklite models someway got that dot stamping, 422, 424 and 426. As well the 412 Scoutlite. Though its not certain why, I'm leaning toward that for a steel designation as Buck has a long history of using that stamp in that manner. December 2005 issue. I'd be suprised if different evidence surfaced. DM

    Mine looks exactly like the one posted. Od green scales and has a nylon sheath.
