    Swamp Rat Noob Questions

After using and enjoying working fixed blades from ESEE and Bark River for a while, I want to give a Swamp Rat a try, specifically a Rodent 4.

    Any advice for color combinations?

Also, what do people use for sheaths?

I can see where this is headed, I'm already trying to figure out how to scrape funds together for a Ratmandu and an R9, I am getting confused by the website as it seems there are two ways to order. One section says to send an email, the other has a shopping cart to purchase immediately. What is the difference? Also, where can I get one of the 'hawks I see discussed here?

    Thanks

The color combination is really up to you, I think they are all sexy but I prefer black blade with black paper micarta or black canvas.

There are people within the forum who can make sheaths for you, or you can do a google search for "Rodent 4 Sheath". The bay has them sometimes too. I had Dwayne Puckett make me a leather sheath for my Ratmandu and he did a fantastic job for under a 100 bucks. That was over a year ago so prices may have gone up for his outstanding work. You can get kydex for a lot less than leather.

You can order which ever way you prefer, either email them, or just add to cart and check out. You will get a confirmation email if you purchase directly from their website and I'm pretty sure it'll get processed slightly faster if you just buy from the website. The hawks were a limited run, I'm not sure if they will go into production with them so I think you'll have to browse the exchange if you want one.

There are some things that can't be the truth even if they did happen.
