Can someone please advise me on how to get on a waiting list, make an order, whatever I need to do to get one? I really want an XM-18 3" with stonewashed bronze scale.

The sticky in this sub forum should answer that.
You have to be first responder, LEO, Military or fire To order direct.

They may not be simple to come by, but are worth the effort to find one that meets your wants. Happy hunting.

The hunt has begun. The only challenge is that the going prices seem to be up in the $900 range. Is this typical even on the exchange or is it just because there are a few people who can afford to pay that much?

Secondary pricing is not a topic we like to discuss because it causes a lot of grief for some.

That said, depending on what you are looking for the prices vary from model to model and of course a custom will cost more than a production. This is true for MSRP and carries over to all other sales.

So, if it's a 24 at the number you posted that's not too far out of whack, but a 3.5 can be found for less if you keep a watchful eye.

The 3" ers are out there with a lot of variety.

Yes, the secondary pricing secrecy of knives is new to me and peculiar. Anyway, it's nice to know what the "ballpark" is on knives and I appreciate the input.

N2K was right on target, I imagine it would seem "peculiar", once you are around here for awhile (if you choose) it will make more sense. Wasn't you, the threads just dissolve rather quickly so......best just to not go there.

Well, I just Love the look of the 3" xm-18 and love has no boundaries!!!! Value is a subjective thing and selling a few knives to get one may seem crazy but hey, if you're going to EDC one it might as well be your favorite...

Nah.....If selling a couple of one thing to get another is crazy then I am posting from a sanitarium on top of a Mountain.
Hey..........SHUT UP! I'll be done in a minute..... (Damn Mice) impatient AND inconsiderate.
As I was saying.... What was I saying?

But seriously, I think NOT selling a couple of knives that don't get carried to fund an EDC like an XM-18 is nuts.

That's my thinking exactly. If I had an XM-18 I wouldn't want to carry anything else. Thankfully I think I could sell my VECP and an Mnandi pretty easily. That's my plan...

Speaking from experience, selling some non carried knives to acquire a 3" XM-18 is advisable, I carry a 3" daily, it is a very nice knife.

Yes, the Mnandi is very "people friendly" which is one of the main reasons I like them. But I think that 3" XM-18 isn't going to scare anyone either...

When I first got mine, I thought "Oooh little smaller than I thought it would be" but, I had been carrying a 3.5" daily when the 3" arrived. Now in the Summer, I have been EDCing the 3" and liking it very much. I believe when the jeans and jackets come back out my 3.5" will also but I am enjoying the 3" very much. No regrets. No plans on getting rid of it. and yes, I agree - No one gives it a second look at least for it's "scarey factor".

Rick and Rob are the only ones with the pay grade for that decision and it is a Private matter between you and them and can be advanced by email or PM to Rob Orlando.
Regardless the outcome, your service as an Ally and Neighbor to the North is appreciated.
    Salute.

Thanks guys, the knife is not for me but my cousin who will be coming home from Afghanistan in a couple weeks. I told her I would give her an upgrade on her knife once she returns home. She carries an Endura so I was going to get her an Emerson but I feel that an XM would have a little more sentimental value. I contacted Rob and he wants her to contact him as soon as she comes home and he will take care of her. So, Canadian soldiers do qualify
