General question regarding carrying a pocket knife..I imagine this question has been asked before but didn't see anything after a brief look.
If the pocket knife has a pocket clip and it is in your pocket with the clip exposed is the knife considered concealed or not?
    Regards,

Here in Maryland if you can see enough or the knife that a average person can tell its a knife it is not concealed, so I would guess that a clip showing means not concealed, but it varies from state to state and person to person.

If you are sitting in a car, I believe it can be considered concealed.
Its according to the officer's interpretation of the law...and then the judge.
Ive had an officer threaten to take my auto folder because it was auto and "concealed" (clipped to pocket).
Depends on how bad the officer wants to nail you

Spot on HuntBomb-its like asking if your car is roadworthy.
If they WANT to find something wrong with it they will. There will be a reason why they want to do this.
That reason will be directly related to the owners behaviour and why their attention was drawn to him.

    .
Its also directly related to how nice of a knife you're carrying...
...and how bad the cop wants it... sad but true

I think it depends on your states laws on weapons and what is or isn't considered a weapon. In my state, knives are only considered weapons if they are double bladed, automatic, or if they are brandished in a threatening way or used to hurt someone. The law on length is fairly grey and mostly hinges on the perception of someone that might feel threatened.

I agree with others as well in terms of it depending on the cop and the situation. As long as you're not a criminal or a dumbs#*t, most cops are cool with someone carrying a pocket knife.

You should call your local precinct and ask. Couldn't hurt.

To be safe, I always assume the worst. In a jurisdiction where concealment is illegal, it could be considered concealed; in a jurisdiction where concealment is mandatory, it's not concealed.

I was thinking the same. In NYC, it has to be concealed so the clip showing will ruin your day.
