Have you ever found a knife?

I haven't found any knives really....I have a good friend who finds them all the time....has found a couple case knives (cheaper ones, but still case), a kershaw AO knife (cant remember model) that he carries every day now, and a bunch of chinese knives.....some guys have all the luck lol

Oh, and some guy on here found a sebenza classic (I think) for like 40 or 60 bucks....for a sebenza I consider that finding and not buying

This is my first post but I've been reading here for a long time. I usually find what I'm looking for by doing a search but I thought it would be appropriate to tell my "found a knife" story as my first post.

About 4 years ago, I bought a vintage saxophone on Ebay and in the storage compartment of the case, there was a Kershaw Leek that looked to be new. Not a scratch on it. I felt lucky but thought that the seller might be missing his knife and returning it to the seller was the right thing to do (plus I'm not that crazy about Leeks anyway) so I contacted the seller to let him know about the knife in the storage compartment. His reply was, "Thank you but I have no idea what you are talking about. I don't own a knife and I certainly would not put it in the sax case". I never heard from him again and that's how I got my one and only Kershaw Leek. To this day I can't figure out how that knife might have found it's way into a saxophone case.

I have a story to add, a buddy of mine lost a aluminum handled Kershaw speedbump in the school welding shop about 3 years back. He found it last night looking for a Boker subcom. In his couch.

After a new clip, bar, and sharpening she is good to go.

I found a Gerber EAB - the boxblade/utility knife in the street between work and the parking lot. I figure it fell off the back of a work truck or something, nobody ever claimed it so I put a Stanley Carbide blade in it and use it. Neat little knife.

My nephew found an old buck 110 lying in the street, in descent condition he keeps it in his tackle box now.

On my paper route in the early '80's I found a Gerber folding Sportsman I in a leather sheath with a sharpening steel in the middle of the street.
Being a stupid kid, I figured I needed it more than whoever left it there.
I had that thing for years, and EDC'd it for a little while.
One of the wood inserts fell out, and I superglued it back in.
I still have the sheath and steel, but it's the only knife I've ever lost. Probably about 10 years ago now.
I like to think it was found by, or given to, a young boy to enjoy it as much as I did - and to get bit by the knifeknut bug.

Also found a SAK classic (with a bent blade), and a lockback folding utility knife. Also in the middle of the street. The SAK was been removed from my possession by TSA, probably 10 years ago as well. The utility knife is in my toolbox.

I literally perused this thread at 4am when I got home from work last night. Hit my local dog park today to get my dogs tuckered, and there at the first watering hole was a Leek.

I know this isn't quite the spirit of the thread but about 27 years ago I found a survival knife at my Aunts house after my uncle passed away. The knife was in her junk room storage area so I decided to take it out to play ninja Rambo fort type stuff. Anyway I was around 10 years old and for at least two to three years beat the snot out of it used it as a spear, throwing knife etc just like in the movies. Well after all that time she figured out it was her husbands brothers knife and that she wanted to put it away and my dad would get me another knife. Keeping in mind I never met my other Uncle( also passed away) so latter on when I was maybe 16 I asked if she still had it and unfortunately it was stolen with some guns ( I think by a family member) In the end I told her that I would really like to have it if it was every found or returned let me know because I really liked Uncle Randall's knife. And as you guessed she asked Uncle who?

I ALMOST found one when I was 5. My dad took me to a playground and right next to a kid-powered-merry-go-round was a pocket knife. I went to pick it up but my dad stopped me. He said its owner would be back for it. I can't help but wonder what kind of knife it was. Most likely it was junk, but I'll never know for sure.

When I was about 10 years old I went to visit a family friend at the coast. They lived in a neighborhood that had a canal system that emptied into the bay. We found a giant magnet in his dad's garage and tied it to a rope and dragged it through the canal in a canoe. We found like 6 or 8 old rusted out knives and a rusty pistol that we threw back because we both got scared.

On the flip side, about seven years ago I lost my Ritter mini griptilian. Losing that one hurt,

About 1980 I was the Team Sgt of a Special forces Scuba Team at Ft Devens, MA. As a good neighbor policy we were send one Spring to clear the swimming area at nearby Shirley (MA) lake. On the dive I found a SAK, a Bic lighter and a $5 bill. Got out of the water and blew couple times on the Bic and it lite right up. Not bad for having been in the water probably all winter. I cleaned up the SAK, it had sand in it and gave it to a young SGT who did not have one, and my wife got the $5. John

Victorinox Mauser folder in a rest area parking,
Martini hunter in a old house,
Gerber 600 multi tool by a lake,
boot knife on a hill top,
Sharade Sharp finger copy on a dirt road,
double blade Boker under a tree in the mountains,
Victorinox kitchen butcher in the middle of the road,
folding work razor lockback knife in the road,
various rusted cheapies, found one last week with only the tang and rivits left.

I found a SAK on a little island in the middle of a trout stream. Ironically the same river where a year before I lost my Leatherman blast.

Just as an addendum to this, I did ask everyone in the park at the time, and I have a note to put up tomorrow. I know that a Leek isn't the most expensive or hardest to find knife, but things have sentimental value. I know I'd be pissed if I lost even one of my little sub $20 folders.

In the mid 50's, I found a Utica Girl Scout knife on Sunset Beach on Monterey Bay. The blades were tarnished but the knife was still in good shape.
Also in the mid 50's, I found a small knife in the shape of a womans shoe in the Plaza at Sonoma, CA. The knife has "DARRICADES HNOS VALPARAISO" on the scales. The knife has a 1 1/4" blade and was probably for a watch chain.
I still have both knives.

Yes from what i understand a very early model 18. I'm from St.Cloud Fl about 30 min or so from there shop. From what my dad told me they used to go to the boat repair shop Haygoods where he worked and sell them in person before they were big time. Unfortunately he didn't buy one but my uncle did at some point. His name was engraved on it I just remembered the Randall on it.
Maybe I should post his name in some forums I would gladly buy it back even though it was stolen.

Yep ,Found a Wenoka dive knife diving the Wreck of the Naeco off of NC Coast on the Sand,it was Blue and stood out like a sore thumb against the Brown sand.Picked it up and put in my Dive pouch and finished my dive.After climbing up the ladder to get on board and a fellah was allready asking people if they found a knife and that he had lost his.I of course(being the good guy that I was) gave it back to him and he thanked me and asked me where I found it.I told him it was about 50 feet from the stern wreckage.As Far as I remember thats the only knife I ever found
