Don't think about it, just purchase them. Then get a dual carry sheath from Azwelke or Sky or goodspeed or Sage or Balding or... Just get a dual carry system from one of the gurus.

One that will reallycover your needs is either the 5 or the 15.
I recomend the 15 it's light enough has a handle u dont have yet and still has a damm of a blade 0.5 inches biggers than the 2. And meet your uses, general wood just dont baton anithing bigger than your wrist, is the best cooking knife from small game to a small pig, and its reach still allows good self defence.
If sel defence is more important go with the 5 the longer reach shall please you.
