Thanks for the links Dr. Bill. John & Geri McPherson are the real deal. This is one of the absolute best primitive skills books available. Coincidentally, this book was originally published as 10 small booklets, some of which I bought from Les Stroud and his, then, girlfriend, Sue at the Toronto Sportsmen Show approx. 25 years ago (???) - can't remember exactly - damn 66 year old memory.

I'm surprised that this is available as a download because it is currently on the bookshelves.

As far as, "I'm sorry that most people will not even open the web page I attached to check these out" - their loss!

Thanks for the links! Reading through the Wilderness Living book now. For anyone interested, the Hesperian books are available in paper copies for reasonable prices, $15-25 depending on the book, which might almost be cheaper than buying paper and ink and printing them off yourself. Some information that could potentially be quite helpful as part of a disaster preparedness kit.

That said, I gotta hit the computer store for some printing stuff and make copies of these, would be nice to have a lot of this stuff on hand.

Good link Dr. Bill; that Combat Life Saver self-study guide is a great document and was very helpful to me in the past. The Ranger Handbook was my bible for several years

Good stuff and there's a link to download both "Where there is no Doctor/Dentist". I have hard copies, but with a Kindle, they can all be easily packed with me...thanks again!

Excellent information. I can't stop reading the Ultimate Guide to Wilderness Living. Within the last week I told myself that it's time to learn to make cordage. One of the first things in the guide. Thanks for the great technological link to primitize(?) ourselves.
