I want one...but they are selling for a premium now that they aren't everywhere. Blah... I'll have to sell off something for the sake of getting one.

After the irritating "in-stock, not-in-stock after all" situation at the first website that I ordered from, I have two ZT0780's coming my way from two different sources (one at the current "common price", and one that was a bit cheaper), and both should be in my mailbox this afternoon. I will post again after I get them to let you all know what I think. I have a feeling that I will really like them, as they remind me of a combination of a couple of my favorite Kershaws (flipper from the Skyline and blade shape from the old Wild Wild Turkey/Hawk) with a bit of Strider thrown in (am I the only one that sees it that way?). Anyway, I can hardly wait!

I got two that are both pretty good. My Dad liked them and decided to order one, it came and he had to send it in right away. The blade was so off centered closed, if you opened it with the thumb stud, it would scrape the liner. The lock-up had a lot of rock in it. It also has those hooks on the butt end, cut outs to the extreme. He was disappointed, but I'm sure they will take care of him.

Ok, got both 0780's yesterday afternoon, and so far, I love them just as much as I thought I would. One is pretty much perfect (the one that I paid less for...), and the other is essentially the same, but just a tiny bit of vertical blade play (not enough to bother me as an EDC knife). If I could afford it, I would do like djdawg and order a couple more.

I cant believe this thread has fizzled to page two.
Seeings how no one had the answer to my questions .......... I emailed ZT and they have responded already

Our S30V has a Rockwell of 57-59 and the 0780 is in fact discontinued
and all I got was just a few hundred were made.

I just got mine, and a second is on the way indeed. I figured there were only a couple/few hundred made, so I'll be happily using one while lovingly stowing the other away. I also just got a gorgeous Paramilitary 2, and they are very very similar in size.

Mine does also. I may wait until my second one comes before I send this one in.

I am planning to send mine in, but if all 0780s have it, I won't bother.

Mine has a little, but I'm okay with it.

Mine is rock solid. No complaints.

Mine seems to have worn in a bit. The flex is almost gone with a good flick open, and less so than it was yesterday. Seems some use is getting it to settle in. Either way, I'm happy and have another one coming in a few days. I also tried some...err, lock tests today at work while no one was around and the lock didn't fail once, nor show any signs that it would.

Side to side is non-existent, and this thing cuts like crazy. If Batman had a ZT, this would be it.

Mine also developed a lil' vertical blade-play, but I haven't sent it in yet because I don't wanna part with it... Seriously, great knife, wish they'd made more.

Mine sent out yesterday. Hopefully I get it back by the end of August.

Didn't want to send mine out because its such a great knife. I was flipping it all day long for the period of time I still had it.
    Wish I could get another.
