That's separate from the socialization of your medical care and outright theft of your freedom to chose.

What a glorious decade thats going to be. The night will be bleak and dark, but the sun will soon rise and the roaches will flee before the break of dawn.
While I completely disagree on the Clinton thing (seriously, who cares who the guy has sex with), this has been the biggest fiasco of a presidency in the last 30 years. Its a sad time when you read about the Carter years with longing...

In a country where they take 50 % of a person's income including those who live near the poverty line one has to get down to bare bones living/survival mode. Everything I own is old, the pickup is a 1994 the microwave oven in the kitchen is 32 years old and I am making new wheels for it's turntable instead of buying a new one. I heat with wood as I cannot afford heating oil at $1.25 liter = $4.75 US gallon, and hunt and fish to help keep the grocery bill down. Here they tax everything, value added taxes add 13% to everything even light and heating and some goods have hidden taxes such as the tire tax... and I could go on, but to simpify it, the state comes first and whatever is left over is what one has to live on. Its not easy nor pretty. Being retired living on a pension my truck only moves once a week to get supplies. Its not easy and its only getting worse.

I don't care who he slept with... I care who he lied to about it etc.

Agree about Carter... he or Bubba, or even Hillary would be better than the current empty suit (with a hole in the pocket where trillions of dollars fall out).

I seriously hope you are right, but with Obama's approval numbers I have to guess that either a lot of people don't get it, or they're just not paying attention. We better hope we outnumber them at the polls.

Between the Left's proven ability and willingness to lie convincingly and the press's willingness to support them, you can color me "concerned".

To the first part of your post, if it doesn't matter who he slept with then it doesn't matter who he lied about. If the question is illegitimate then so is the answer. Its the same reason I use for shrugging at the baseball steroid "scandal".

I don't think its a hole in his pocket so to speak. I think he knows exactly where it went and was very strategic about how he doled it out.

That's mostly because the campaign hasn't really begun. Obama has been throwing everything but the kitchen sink at this election and the numbers haven't budged. Wait until Romney and the repubs starting lifting the rub about a few things here and there.

I have to disagree. Consensual sex between adults is not a crime. Lying, on the other hand, can be a crime depending who you lie to or where you lie. in sworn statement, in a court of law, or in legal or government proceedings is a crime. People are legally free to sleep with whomever they want. They are not legally free to lie whenever or to whomever they want.

I'll go with Preacher Man on this one... if you lie to your wife, that's one thing... if you lie to a judge or a Congressional Committee, that's perjury

I'd agree with your suggestion about the hole in the empty suit's pocket... he knows exactly how much and where he's letting the money fall out.

No, its a question of whether the question itself is legitimate and whether, in fact, one is obligated to tell the truth. There is also the definitional argument (won't go into that as its far off topic.)

Either way, Obama is funding his friends to ensure that they fund him. Its not as haphazard as the MSM would lead you to believe.

Literal truth isn't relative, but I do realize that some don't accept that "inconvenience".

You're right with regard to literal truth. However, the prevailing quandary is whether it was right and proper to ask a sitting president about his sex life. If you believe that the question isn't legitimate than the answer can have no consequence (even if lying in general is wrong.)

If he felt the question was improper, then he shouldn't have answered it. His lie was even more improper than his behaviour. What an embarassment as a president.

Rarely has he been clearer on a point. Well, he was pretty clear that Obamacare will save taxpayers billions and bring down the cost of healthcare to all, but other than that, he's rarely been clearer. I will therefore take him at his word, based on his stellar track record thus far, and presume that you are spreading partisan disinformation intended to weaken the President during an election year.
This is a non-partisan comment Bronco. Your taxes may or may not go up depending on your income. With our mounting debt I dont trust either candidate at this point. Healthcare reform is a great example of how the administration is claiming to drive cost out of the system, but does the opposite. This reform effects the price you pay for the medical services and the medical products you want. The price will indeed be higher. You can split hairs and say there is no tax hike on the sub $250K (actually, $250K joint income, it's $200K single income earner), though there may not be a direct tax on your spendable income. It is now and will continue to take your money.

Obamacare has created few if any jobs, it has provided the insurance companies yet another reason to raise our premium rates, provided employers new justification to cut jobs to help pay for the effect of healthcare reform on corporate costs. I noticed my family physician making a lot of changes with new forms and new documents and practices. I asked what's up? He said changes required by the health care reform act. I asked him what impact healthcare reform has had on his practice. So far he has spent over $250K to comply.

Look at all of the increases listed below that health care reform has coming down the pipe at us. This achieves nothing more than to further drive medical costs up and we the consumers will pay for this.
Pharmas, doctors, device manufacturers..... they will not eat these costs, they will pass them down to us.

    Major tax provisions

The federal Joint Committee on Taxation, a nonpartisan committee of Congress with a professional staff of economists, attorneys and accountants, provided members a detailed breakdown of the tax impact of the health care law from 2010-2019.

    • Starting in 2013, Medicare payroll taxes increase 0.9 percentage points for people with incomes over $200,000 ($250,000 for couples filing jointly). Also, people at this income level would pay a new 3.8 percent tax on investment income. The 10-year cost: $210.2 billion.

    • Starting in 2018, a new 40 percent excise tax on high-cost health plans, so-called "Cadillac plans" (over $10,200 for individuals, $27,500 for families), kicks in. That's expected to bring the government a total of $32 billion in 2018 and 2019.

    • Starting in 2011, there's a new fee for pharmaceutical manufacturers and importers. That's expected to raise $27 billion over 10 years.

    • Starting in 2013, a 2.3 percent excise tax on manufacturers and importers of certain medical devices starts. The 10-year total: $20 billion.

    • Starting in 2014, a new annual fee on health insurance providers begins. Total estimated 10-year revenue: $60.1 billion.

    • Starting in 2013, the floor on medical expense deductions on itemized income tax returns will be raised from 7.5 percent to 10 percent of income. That's expected to bring in $15.2 billion over the next 10 years.

    • Starting in 2011, a 10 percent excise tax on indoor tanning services. That's expected to bring in $2.7 billion over the next 10 years.

The easiest way to kill the economy is raise taxes. Ontario held a leading economy for decades, then Mc Guinty's liberals took office, and in less than 10 years have turned Ontario into the 'have not province'. Value added taxes were levied on almost everything including heat and light, user fees of all kinds have been invented or increased, together with a new health tax on income. Then there are the crazy laws enacted where drinking a beer in a canoe could result in an impaired charge with driver's license suspensions. There's the special green energy levies added to electricity that drove manufacturing away running up the unemployment rate, crimes up etc etc and people who cannot afford the electric bills that have doubled in 6 years.

As a result of 8 years of 'tax and spend' tactics, Ontario is now worse off than California with dept per capita and its getting worse. People are leaving the province in large numbers to others with better employment, friendliers laws and lower tax rates/costs of living.

That does indeed sound a lot like California though.

Right or perhaps the question should not have been asked. This is no different then a cop insisting on interrogating a suspect w/o ever reading him his rights / ignoring his rights.
