You can use cedar or maple to make a camp eating utensil set. One piece can be a stick whittled to either a dished out spoon or flat eating shovel...an inch or so wide and taper the handle as it suits you. If you make soup in camp then you need a spoon but thicker stews and such can work on a flat utensil just fine. To go with that you can make a single or double tined eating fork. If you have plenty of sticks on hand see what you can make of them and if they don't suit you toss them on the fire and try again. When you do enough of these you will eventually find what looks nice to you and keep a set for using again or give them as gifts. They can be as fancy or simple as your skills and patience lets them.
