I think its just a movie prop. The one from the movie is for sale for $1299.00. Do a search for premier props. They have everything he used in the movie for sale.

Looked almost like a short sword. It sure did work well for him. Enjoyed the movie.
Good one for DVR and 2 a.m. when the world is quiet and sleeping.

I could be wrong, but I somewhat recall one of the cheaper manufacturers making a replica. Maybe Frost Cutlery or Fury or something like that.

Hi Maprik, it's a production knife, not sure if it came before or after the film (though I suspect the latter). I'm not familiar with the company, but they seem to be a bonafide cutlery company as opposed to a prop company. Their knife's made from 420 stainless, gets mixed reviews, it's inexpensive, I might even pick one up myself sometime. Came across it here http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/Herber...es/c-1-92-152/ but sure you can find one closer to home. I just had to watch the film again!

Yeah, I am going to rent it on demand again tonight. That will make eight rented movies in the last two weeks. If it was quality, and the actual movie prop, I would like to have it.

I should add that the film isn't even mentioned in relation to the knife on the site I saw it on, which tends to underline the fact it's being sold as a knife rather than a prop. It's just called the Herbertz Machete.

One of our very own knifemakers on the forum makes a nice looking version of the Eli movie sword.
Here is a link to it.

In the film, can anyone remember if the knife had those holes before the scene where the Gatling gun comes out?

The company Hiro made a higher quality machete that was quite similar too.

In the book he loots it out of a crazy prices shop in a deserted mall .
He also didn't memorise the bit in the bible thats says "thou shalt not kill".
I wonder if "thou shalt not steal" covers the 2 hours of my life that went missing whilst watching that guff.
PS is that THE Jack Black?

Good question. It's not just before he dies though, it's just after he gets shot (sometime before he actually dies). He also uses a smaller knife to carve his roasted cat (or whatever the heck it is), Don't know if it's the same knife though.
