Hey guys.

Some members had asked me to do a breakdown of my kit and I figured id start with my knives. Im a little new to video making so any critique is welcome.

Great review Thanks, what pack is that? I believe your ax is a Hultafors Bruk from sweden, nice ax but like you said a little heavy when going light.

Good video, seems like youve found the tools that work for you. About the ax, you could hit up some more flea markets and find a smaller head to rehandle, maybe like a carpenters hatchet and just add a longer handle, probably could find a head that has a broader blade so you could cut weight,and have a larger cutting surface, without having to go with a hawk.

Thanks for your posts guys. Pyro, our minds are in the same place on this one, I have been playing with the idea of a lightweight axe head for a while now, and considering a hawk'. But both of these get me thinking about a chopper knife, I have a Tramontia Bolo that has served me well, it would be tough to get lighter then that, ive heard good things about the CS kukri machete aswell. Nato, if my axe was a Hultafors Bruk that would be awesome, how do they relate to Gransforts Bruk? (excuse my spelling)

I believe so also, I had that pack a few years ago. I went here for the last five days.

It was gorgeous, but there was a bear in our primitive camp site area. I heard the C.O's banging away a couple of miles to the north, must have sighted it. I picked up a G. Brucks small forest axe and worked it up there. It is wonderfully light but almost too small for me, definately a compromise for packing in. Sweet little thing none the less.

I grew up close to there. Knowing the forest your in I think you are carrying a lot of dead weight in knives/tools but it sounds like your already starting to figure that out.
