I told him I wanted a Cleaver with a Blade like the one below

AND ONE WITH A HANDLE LIKE HIS BOLOK

---HE CAME UP WITH THIS
SPECS
Blade is 11 1/2" tip to guard,
1/4" 5160 (Aldo's), just over 3" wide.
Handle is 6" green canvas micarta with stainless pins.








The Beast as I call it will be in Texas next week

What TESTS would you like to see me do with it???????

Behead a 400lb sow with one swing.... I LOVE the looks of the bolok and really the handle. Looks secure and versatile.

How about removing splinters?

Should be good in a drawknife hold to shape staves.

Completely awesome blade Bill......I say chop down enough trees to build a large stockade; with fully functioning gate. Then chop down a battering ram to see how many whacks it takes to get to the center of the stockade.....or is that a lollypop....damn my school house rock upbringing!!

An edge retention test. Bring the edge to shaving sharp and take close up pictures of the edge at the tip, belly, and heel. Then, baton some hardwood, chop some 2x4, cut a bunch of rope, and take more close up pics of the edge and see what it looks like and how it performs after all that abuse.

Well...the first thought that crossed my mind was to ask you to bring it across the gulf to southwest Florida and help me teach some of these rude jerks around here some manners...but that would likely just get us in trouble. I have no doubts of the chopping power....soooo, I say prep some of that prickly pear fruit with it
