Anybody usually disappointed with the lack of edge on MT ultratech? My new bm51 and spyderco tenacious both came out of box shave sharp. This one is not so. However this is my first MT do they all come less sharp? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I've owned 3 so far and just orders my fourth. All have been the sharpest things out of the box that I've had. Spydrcos and benchmades included.

I just picked up my first MT UT (also my first OTF) and I was also a bit let down by the out-of-the box sharpness. It wasn't bad, just not scary sharp. How ever, a few quick strokes with the fine rods on my Sharpmaker and it's far better.

Yeah. I've gotten it a little better. And swapped out the glass breaker. MT should include a dull non-gb in the box too. It's a pricey knife to require so much modding just to get a comfy edc.

I hope my new one is as sharp as my others! Hah. The GB I leave on most, only the one I carry alot and actually thinking about not changing it out on the new one coming. I have one more just gotta decide.

Just got my SE UT in from hollow grind. Yes, it's very sharp. I've already dulled it working on Sheetrock lol. Well, I got it to use it lol. For lighter jobs. Ordering a sebenza tomorrow for heavier duty work
