I'd get an XM-18 3.5, a Large Sebenza, and put the rest towards an SNG.

I'd get a Fherman Final Judgment, and a few Benchmade knives.

I could see doing this exact thing. Or what powernoodle said.

I agree. I like the axis lock much more than frame locks, and I was a Reeve dealer.
The only frame/liner lock I have is a HEST 2.0 and I've had to reset the Lockbar twice, I do like it though and I EDC it a lot.

From my perspective if you're interested in knives you'd actually want to use, then $100-$300 is really the sweet spot. Anything above that and you're just paying for custom work or the name basically. There certainly is a difference between $50 and $200 though in terms of feel and usability.

If it were me I'd probably splurge and get some Spyderco sprints, benchmade gold class and the like. Maybe a sebenza since I've never had one (I'd get a small, nothing fancy like damascus, and i'd actually use it). I wouldn't buy anything like a Hinderer though, which are great if you can get one at MSRP but the inflated prices you see online are just not worth it, considering you could just get a ZT 0560 for under $300 and have something comparable.

If limited to folders, it would be a Mnandi, Sebenza, a few inexpensive models from Kershaw, Spyderco and Benchmade that I've had my eye on, and spend the rest on a box of SRM and Enlan just to tinker with.

If fixed blades were allowed, I'd remove all of the detritus and pick up a Murray Carter neck knife.

I'd buy a nice .308 AR. $1500 is ridiculous for a knife or a bunch of knives.
