Insulting you? what on earth are you on about? questioning the validity of your statement is hardly an insult.

I've smashed through scrub on bush walks, chopped down small trees, processed wood and carved with my A1 and it still has the factory edge & still sharp.

To the guy who chipped an F1 cutting pineapple I call BS, more likely a granite chopping board.

I don't think the OP will ever be happy with the F1, whining about it before he even has it in his hands then moaning as the lamination isn't perfect.

I suggest the OP pony up and buy a Busse as it may meet more of the expectations.
Learn to read you dumb fuck, I clearly state I am happy. Not a fan of any Busse designs, wanted a STAINLESS knife for the last time. Everybody and their cousin posts first impressions of unboxing knives, I did the same. The lamination is very uneven which may cause me a problem should I chip it and have to reprofile, but in the first sentence of my post I clearly state that overall Im very happy with the knife. Get the kiwis out of your ass and pay attention, in the mean time stay out of our conversation which was going fine until you showed up and insulted 2 people.

Nice, I suspected you to merely be a troll. I have not insulted anyone unlike yourself. REPORTED.

Nope, I'm talking from experience and I purchased my Fallknivens from a local authorised dealership, no shipping.

The fallkniven f1 is my favorite bushcrafting knife. Never had these issues of it chipping, but my guesss is that it is either a fluke or was improperly used. Im looking to expand my bushcrafting knife base though by getting a bark river bravo 1 and BHK bushcrafter. I doubt they will top the fallkniven though. And to the OP, the Busse knives have the properties of stainless knives. I have yet to see one of my INFI knives rust. I personally think they are well worth it.

Both my F1's are identical with even lamination lines. If yours is really out a lot , send it back and get another. I reiterate that that the F-1 is an awesome knife , but perhaps you got a poor one...not sure. Over 6G in knives and I have yet to get a medium to high-end production knife where the grind was so bad I couldn't fix it with 10 minutes on a stone. If the lamination line is out a lot , that is something you cannot grind out , so I would return it if that was the case .

I have had an A1 for several years now and have really put some miles on the knife. It's holding up like a champ. I do indeed get the impression that the laminated VG10 steel is a bit brittle, but I have never had any chips that couldn't be fixed with a few minutes on the sharpmaker. In my honest opinion, I think you get a fair deal on Fallknivens warranty, though I'll admit that I'm more comfortable with a lifetime warranty ESEE style. They are excellent knives, and my A1 has yet to let me down.

Oh and the zytel sheaths are ugly. Functional but gruesome... ugh.

I dont think the uneven lamination line will affect performance at all, Ill drop Fallkniven a line and see what they say. It might be an indication of another problem, Ill wait and see.

I have three Fallys (s1, A1, and F1) and have used them as hard as you could sensibly use a knife and they keep coming back for more. i have batonned with the F1, and prepared food and shelter on many occasions, as it's all i carried and was super impressed with it for such a small knife. with hard use i do get some microchipping on occasion, but nothing i can't sharpen out immediately with a medium diamond hone i have glued to my sheith. I think all joking and trolling aside, you have made a pretty good choice for yourself and for the money you couldn't do much better.

It isn't if you write something like "Is it possible that the chopping board and not the pineapple as the problem? For instance, did you use a granite chopping board?"

But if you write "I call bullshit!" then people are going to get testy. If you don't get this, you may want to get tested for mild autism. Seriously.

    Also

    - If you'd done a google search you'd have seen that chipping with F1's is a widely reported problem in all sorts of situations where chopping boards are not involved.

    - A knife shouldn't chipped if used with a granite chopping board; early blunting from rolling should be the result. Chipping would only reasonably occur if you did something like chop at the edge of the board.

A lot of people are very happy with their F1s, others report problems - it really does seem like there is a quality control problem and a small number of bad knives are getting out into the wild. Fallkniven don't seem to be as responsive as they should ideally be, but they do seem to give in and do something if you nag at them enough.
